Volunteer Information

All volunteers must complete a Volunteer Application for the McKinney Independent School District. Please click on the link below and follow the instructions to complete the Volunteer Application. This must be done once a year. If you have any questions, please contact our Booster President.

Please allow two weeks to process your application. See the site above for all details regarding volunteering in McKinney ISD.

Please use the Volunteer Interest Form above to select areas where you as a parent would like to get involved with the Royal Pride Band.

Your presence at games and school events is your opportunity to actively show your support for McKinney Fine Arts, the band program itself, and your band student. This showing of support helps fuel the passion and drive of both your child (even if he or she refuses to admit it now) as well as our awesome team of band directors.

Some upcoming volunteer opportunities with sign up links can be seen in the site below.

Royal Pride Band Volunteer Position Descriptions

Meals

Volunteers feed the Royal Pride Band several times throughout the fall marching season including game days and contests.

Bus Chaperone

Parents ride the buses with students to and from games and contests.  During games, chaperones may be responsible for escorting students to and from the restroom as well as helping hand out snacks provided by the meals team.  You can volunteer for all or some events.  Chaperones attend games at no charge when entering with the band.

Concessions

As a significant source of fundraising income for the band, we staff the concession stand during games and contests at MISD Stadium. Volunteers typically work in 2-hour shifts during games with different jobs to choose from: register, food prep, and runner.  Concession volunteers attend games at no charge when they are working.

Pit Crew

Assemble marching band props during the summer and assist in moving equipment/props on and off the field during games and contests. If you enjoy handy work, building, painting, or just adding muscle to help our kids get from point A to point B, this is for you! Pit crew volunteers get free entry into games and sideline access to RPB performances while they are working.

Spirit Wear

Help sell Spirit Wear at the Stadium Store at 2-3 football games as well as band events throughout the year.  Assist with the RPB Store before band events.

Uniforms

Help size and fit marching and concert uniforms a few times a year. Help organize the uniform room when uniforms are checked back in.

Silent Auction

As a significant source of fundraising income for the band, we plan & host a large online Silent Auction during our Swing Dance in the spring semester.  Volunteers solicit donations for the Silent Auction, set up auction items for display, facilitate checkout procedures, and correspond with donors.

Special Events Team

Opportunities will be available to volunteer for special events throughout the year.  Decorations, Planning, Logistics - this is for behind the scenes people and party planners to plan and execute small and big events from after camp water balloon fights to the Swing Dance and Band Banquet.
