Concert Band

Director: Brandon Fisher

The Concert Band is the Sub Non-Varsity ensemble at McKinney High School. Students in this group have the opportunity to continue their musical development performing a variety of challenging musical selections. In order to be in this group, students must demonstrate the desire to develop their level of musical maturity and technical proficiency, and commitment in rehearsal and performance. Preparation and participation in All-Region Auditions is encouraged and participation in the McKinney Ensemble contest and Solo contest is required. Private lessons are strongly encouraged. Financial aid is available. Participation in the marching band is required. Students will receive half a P.E. credit for marching band during fall semester and Fine Arts credit for the full year.

Required Materials

All Members:

• Black 1" three ring binder in good condition

• All music organized in binder (no sheet protectors)

• Pencil

• Metronome & Tuner (at home)

Woodwinds:

• Three reeds in good condition (if applicable)

Brass:

• Valve/rotor oil/slide grease

• Mutes and towels for mutes (when applicable)

Percussion:

• Stick bag

• Assortment of mallets/sticks
