Honors Band

Director: Ken Ringel

The Honors Band is the Varsity performing ensemble at McKinney High School. Students will have the opportunity to continue their development at the most advanced levels. In order to be in this group, students must demonstrate the highest level of musical maturity, technical proficiency, and commitment to rehearsal and practice time.  Students must seriously pursue individual goals on their instrument such as Region Auditions and the McKinney Solo & Ensemble Contests. Private lessons are required of Honors Band members. Financial aid is available. Participation in the marching band is required. Students will receive P.E. credit for marching band during fall semester and Fine Arts credit during spring semester.
